Spanish Programs.

ELC offers you customized tutoring at the level and pace especially suited to your personal goals. ELC is known for its interactive, communicative and personal teaching methods. All standard programs include three hours of private or group instruction per day. Additional hours can be arranged for.

Free daily student activities are included in all programs (cooking, dancing, music, lectures on Peruvian Culture and History, movies, a welcome dinner) as well as all lesson materials, a certificate and a guided tour in town during the first day. Cultural courses are especially popular. A great way to improve Spanish while listening to and participating in activities directed towards learning in a dynamic environment where students will learn about Latin American and Peruvian culture. One hour every day, and it's included in the program!

INTERACTIVE, COMMUNICATIVE TEACHING

Successfully implementing the interactive method depends entirely on the personal attention teachers are able to give students. Therefore, our groups are small and all courses are (super) intensive. The make-up of the group is determined according to the students abilities; the first day of the course begins with an oral and written placement test (a test to know your level only if you have already got previous studies)

LEVELS
We work with four levels, fixing the goals for each based on our experience and in accordance with the curriculum of the ELC Language school.

Basic Beginners
The student will be able to formulate and understand short sentences relating to basic necessities and forms of politeness.

Intermediate
The student will be able to express himself, perhaps sometimes with a little difficulty, but usually spontaneously and independently, in everyday situations.

Advanced
The student will have advanced communication ability, even in complicated situations.
Superior Clearing up minor imperfections. Refining pronunciation and intonation. Communicating, without difficulty, with people who are native Spanish speakers.
Whether a complete beginner or an advanced speaker, a recent or returning student, we can offer customized tutoring at a level and pace especially suited to a student's personal goals.

LESSON MATERIALS
We work with our own Latin America-oriented text books, which form the basis of the course, in combination with other materials (e.g. newspapers, songs, literature, cassettes, videos, grammar exercises etc.) making use of overhead projectors, videos, and other audio-visual materials. However, our materials have only a support function. Students may visit typical locations (for example the market, a school or a hospital) during class, and a large part of the study material are practical activities and exercises, which will aid students to understand and speak Spanish, almost without noticing!

CERTIFICATE
After finishing the course, students receive a certificate of participation . If students take the internal examination at the end of the course then the level reached will be shown in the form of a grade.

CLASS TIMES
Classes take place from Monday to Friday, except for official holidays which are not recoverable (instead, an alternative, cultural activity is offered). All classes are 105 minutes in duration and programmed between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Classes take place in a relaxed and stimulating atmosphere, maximizing a student's ability to communicate in Spanish. Teachers rotate in order to give students the maximum exposure to the varieties of spoken Spanish.

TEACHERS
All ELC teachers are native speakers and professionals who are committed to giving students the richest possible experience of Peruvian culture and customs. They have been chosen because of their high quality teaching skills, their enthusiasm and their knowledge of Huancayo, and most important cities in Peru such as Lima, Cusco, Arequipa, Puno, Iquitos…etc. they all participated in the ELC teachers' training and attend education workshops during their employment.

SPANISH COURSES

Individual Spanish Course: provide tailor made solutions to your language learning needs, and can follow a set syllabus to build your language skills. Course range from one to 15 to 20 hours per week. You can also choose the course content yourself, along with the number of study hours per week. Travelers' Survival Spanish: the perfect course for travelers who want to start communicating in "daily" Spanish. Functional grammar only and speaking, speaking, and……… speaking. Group or individual. Super Intensive Immersion Program: especially designed for those people who need to learn Spanish very quickly, usually for trips, wanting to make the most out of their stay in Huancayo and Peru. This program is based on a total immersion model which leads to guaranteed success in a short number of weeks. Individual classes only. Focused Spanish Courses These courses combine language learning with special focus on a particular topic. Examples of these courses Spanish for Law, Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Teachers, Social Workers, Tourism, Business, Spanish Literature, History, Geography, Art, Cinema, Culture and Politics, Cuisine, Music History and Opera, and Spanish Translation. Quechua (native language of the Incas): only a couple of hours will give you an insight idea of how rich traditional Peruvian culture is. People at the countryside will greatly appreciate your efforts: when hiking and trekking, an "Allillanchu" will immediately open doors for you. Inca Civilization: learn more about this incredible old civilization in our newly designed course including lectures, field trips, videos and pictures. Students do three hours of Spanish Group Classes during the morning and participate in the "Inca Civilization" class two hours in the afternoon. Christmas Course: don’t loose the opportunity to study in Huancayo during the magical Christmas time. Extra activities will be arranged for including Christmas dinner and share a traditional Peruvian Christmas celebration.
